Le Refuge du Laisonnay: Overview

"The national park is the large garden of the French and it is also your personal heritage. Accept consciously with good heart, its disciplines and keep it yourself against vandalism and ignorance.". Samivel - The Commandments of the Vanoise National Park

A fantastic location:

Situated in the heart of the classified valley of Champagny-le-Haut, this family run hostel and restaurant has been a favorite meeting place for mountain lovers since 1963. Not far from the famous GR5 (Grande Randonnée N°5), ‘Le Laisonnay’ is the starting point of numerous walks from whose verdant paths you can admire or approach the snow-capped peaks of La Grande-Casse, La Grande-Motte, Bellecôte, Le Grand-Bec…

The location and the wide range of facilities makes the Refuge du Laisonnay easy to access for everybody. Whether you just want to go for a short afternoon walk or make a hiking-tour that last for several days, Le Laisonnay is the perfect starting point.

It is also a restaurant serving quality traditional homemade food, open to every one. Since 4 generations, the kitchen is respecting very basic rules: Local, Ecological, Tasty, Affordable.

An unique experience:

Immensity: At the foot of a waterfall, surrounded by peaks over 3000 meters, wilderness out of sight.

Isolation: At the very end of the valley, the end of the road, in a hamlet of a few houses, without electricity.

Comfort: 15 places for the accommodation, limited seats for dinner, parking place, satellite internet and phone available and number of other facilities.

Authenticity: The terrace on the lawn, the candlelight dinner, the stone and wood chalets, the heat of the fireplace.

Gastronomy: A local cuisine, ancient recipes, products coming from local farms.

A real refuge with a night in the dormitory, but dinner in the restaurant.

The Refuge Laisonnay still is what it originally was: a mountain hut offering friendly accommodation in a dormitory.

Whether you are alone, or with family or in a group of backpackers on a tour for several days in Vanoise, or even someone only wanting to attempt a first night experience in a refuge, we offer comfortable and clean beds for a nice and cosy night.

Try our half board formula which made our reputation on the tour around the Grande-Casse and the tour around the Vallaisonnay. The kitchen is the same as that for the restaurant.
